This policy covers Chartly on the Apple App Store, the website at chartly.live, and the Chartly Activity inside Discord. Chartly is made by Jason Dutton ("we", "us"). Questions: primedesigndecks@gmail.com.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| A random player ID created on your device (app and website) | To recognize your saved progress. It isn't linked to your name or any other account. |
| Your Discord user ID and your roles in the Chartly Discord server (Discord Activity, or the website if you choose to link Discord) | When you allow Chartly in Discord, Discord tells us your user ID so your progress follows your Discord account between devices. We also check whether you hold the "Chartly Insider" role in the Chartly Discord server, which unlocks the Discord-exclusive theme and badge; we save only a yes/no for that. We ask Discord for two permissions: "identify" and "read your member info in servers" (used only for that role check). We never receive your email, messages, friends list, or which other servers you're in. The iPhone app doesn't use Discord sign-in. |
| The display name you choose | Shown on leaderboards and to friends. Please don't use your real name if you'd rather it not be public. |
| Game progress: scores, streaks, days played, accuracy, coins, themes and badges, practice results, your simulated Options account and trades | To save your progress and show your stats. |
| Daily leaderboard entries (display name, score, time, badge, trader rank) | To run the public daily and all-time leaderboards. |
| Friends and the messages you send them (preset reactions or short typed messages, filtered for offensive words) | To run the Friends feature. |
| Which platform you play on (app, website or Discord) and the last day you played | To understand how Chartly is used and keep it working on each platform. |
| Anonymous daily counts (how many devices opened Chartly each day, per platform) | To see how many people play. These counts contain no player ID. |
| Reports you send about another player (their display name and the recent messages you're reporting), and the list of players you've blocked | To review reports, keep Chartly safe, and stop blocked players from contacting you. |
| Technical information our servers receive with every request (such as IP address and device/browser type), and reports when Discord sign-in fails | To deliver the game, prevent abuse and fix problems. Kept in short-term server logs. |
Settings such as your language and sound level are stored only on your device. Reminders in the iPhone app are scheduled on your phone by iOS; turning them on doesn't send us anything, and you can turn them off any time in Stats → Reminders or in iPhone Settings.
Leaderboards are visible to everyone who plays: your display name, player number, scores, equipped badge and trader rank. Friends can see your stats and the messages you send them.
Game data is stored with Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions). The website is hosted by Netlify. Discord's handling of your Discord account is covered by Discord's Privacy Policy.
We keep your data for as long as you play, until you delete it. Anonymous daily counts may be kept longer.
Open Chartly and go to Stats → Delete my data. This permanently removes your profile, progress, coins and items, Options account, friends, messages you sent, and your leaderboard entries from our servers and from your device. You can also email primedesigndecks@gmail.com and we'll delete it for you.
Chartly isn't directed at children under 13. If we learn we've collected data from a child under 13, we'll delete it. The Discord Activity is also subject to Discord's own age rules.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
